FS2Crew PMDG Jetstream Edition Status Report
Summary:
The core code is close to completion, and I may be able to release in early April.
This is without a doubt one of the best FS2Crew's ever, if not the best.
Voice Control / Traditional Method Status:
The initial release will be a Voice Control product only. So you need to have a headset or a mic.
However, because I appreciate that some people don't like "talking" to their computers, or because some people can't set their Windows Speech Recognizer to English, I will be releasing a separate version shortly after the Voice release that allows for control via the traditional FS2Crew method -ie., keyboard/joystick button presses.
The Voice and Traditional Versions will be separate products.
However, if you're voice capable, I strongly suggest going the Voice route because voice makes things much more realistic.
Integration Status
Seamless and total integration. This is big...
In fact, this is the first PMDG product where I've been able to interface directly with the aircraft without using simulated mouse clicks or keypresses. I can read and write to almost everything directly. It's like having the SDK I had for the Level-D 767 version. It makes the integration very "clean".
What it also means is that I'm able to make the virtual F/O quite "smart" because the FO can read all the switch positions and button states.
Why you need FS2Crew for the PMDG Jetstream:
Like most turboprops, the Jetstream is a complex aircraft to operate (most of you are probably aware of how easy it is to start the engines on fire... I've personally done it at least 15 times), and it can sometimes be a bit tough to access all the switches on the FO's side because the Jetstream only has a VC cockpit.
But with FS2Crew, you won't need to worry about hard to reach switches because the FO takes care of everything on his side as per his flows.
The FO will also keep a close eye on you and make sure you're following the procedures carefully.
For example, the FO won't start the engines when so commanded if the props are feathered, or if the EGT is above 200 degrees, or the Ignition switch is not in Normal, or if the Condition Levers are not in Taxi.
The Procedures Modeled:
For the SOPs, I am modeling what's in the AOM that ships with the PMDG J41. So if you want to start learning your calls, checklists and flows, start studying the AOM. It's all in there.
Robert Randazzo is also assisting FS2Crew to help fill in some of the "blank spots" as required since he used to fly the aircraft and knows the plane better than anyone here.
What I need from my loyal users:
1. I need cabin announcements that are specific to turboprops. They're not easy to find. If anyone has access to some turbo prop specific cabin PA's, please contact me.
2. If any of you work as an aircraft marshaller at an airport, please contact me. I'm going to try something experimental and try to create a simulated marshaller who you can communicate with via simulated hand signals.

New Release for 737 PIC drivers!!!
FS2Crew is proud to announce that the Wilco feelThere 737 Pilot in Command (PIC), also published by Just Flight, has received the full FS2Crew Voice Commander treatment, and is now available for sale.
The 737 PIC Edition is the first FS2Crew "Voice Commander" product to work with a high-end 3rd party aircraft.
This version of FS2Crew works with both the FS9 and FSX versions of the 737 PIC.
A major plus of this new edition of FS2Crew is that the simulated First Officer can interact with most of the switches on the aircraft, and perform his full "flows" just as he would in the real-world.
This is something no other co-pilot simulation can do.
With "voice control", you'll never fly your 737 PIC the same way again! It's like flying a new plane!
